Founded in Pittsburgh in 1927, The Allegheny County Budo-Kai (Martial Arts Center,) a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is one of the oldest martial arts schools in North America. Located in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh, the Martial Arts Center offers instruction in the Japanese martial arts of Jiu-jitsu, Karate, and Okinawan Kobudo (weaponry.) The school’s longevity is a testament to what sets it apart, Excellence and Experience.
All of the instructors at the Allegheny County Budo-Kai have decades of martial arts training resulting in an extensive understanding of their respective arts, which they share willingly with their students. Don't settle for anything less than the very best in martial arts instruction.
The Allegheny County Martial Arts Center, which is the official training center for Allegheny County, is located in the South Park Fairgrounds area of the County Park. The Budo-Kai offers instruction to both children and adults in separate classes. The youth program includes instruction in Chito-ryu Karate-do and self-defense for children 8 to 11 years old. Adult instruction includes Jiu-jitsu, Karate-do, and Okinawan Kobudo to persons 12 years and older.
